Chunkhost VPS (virtual private server) is an impressive VPS provider. I first learned about them a little over a month ago via an AdWords campaign I noticed. Being a long time user of virtual private server providers I clicked the advertisement.
The campaign Chunkhost (affiliate link) was running was a chance of users to beta test their VPS hosting. The beta server gave testers a free server. VPS was provided so long as you provided a legitimate credit card and lived in the United States.
ChunkHost VPS Beta Lasts One Month
The Chunkhost beta testing apparently lasts about a month. I signed up on March 21, 2012 and received the noticed of the beta test closing on April 19th. I don’t know if you can be certain teh Chunkhost beta will last one month but did in my case. I received an e-mail notifying me.
Here is the e-mail Chunkhost employee Nikki mailed:
Thank you very much for helping us beta test ChunkHost!
We haven’t heard much feedback from you yet, and so we figured it is
about time to free up some of our beta Chunks for other eager beta
testers currently on our wait list…
But wait!
As our sincere thanks for trying out our new service, we’d like to
offer you a _permanent_ account-wide discount up to 25% off our
regular (already low!) priced Chunks if you’ll take out a short
survey about your experience:
https://chunkbot.chunkhost.com/beta_survey/
We really really REALLY appreciate all your help in this!
If we haven’t heard from you by April 27, 2012, we’ll be shutting
down your current chunk, MOP.
Thanks a lot!
Nikki

I went through the provided survey. It consists of several questions regarding the free VPS beta testing you do for Chunkhost.
As I informed Chunkhost, during my review I was impressed with their VPS virtual private server hosting.
ChunkHost Virtual Private Server Review
Their I/O on the node “chunk” I was on was fast compared to some other virtual private server providers I have used in the past. Their uplinks (bandwidth) were stable and routed well for my needs. I have experienced poor quality from some providers in the past. I would consider ChunkHost (affiliate link) a more of a premium provider. With the 25% discount they offer it would put the service at about 14 a month for their VPS hosting service. Currently, I am using several providers and due to cash constraints of current projects I most likely will not upgrade at this time. However, when time comes to scale out more of projects Chunkhost is now on my shortlist of virtual private servers (VPS) providers after trying their free beta chunks.
A word of caution once you reach the end of the survey, you will need to either be certain you have backed up your data on the VPS before clicking DO It or be ready to upgrade to their paid service if you are a beta tester. Once, you click Do It the VPS will be destroyed if you don’t upgrade.
Their service was easy to use and their dashboard was minimalistic. I was able to create an account within a few moments my “chunk” VPS container was created. Chunkhost, (affiliate link) is worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new virtual private server solution.
